My Story
I was born in 1942, near the end of the Silent Generation, just before the up-and-coming Baby Boomer generation. I’m a Californian through and through: born in San Francisco, grew up in San Luis Obispo, attended universities in Santa Barbara and Berkeley, taught in Santa Cruz, and now retired in Berkeley. Interspersed throughout this California life have been multiple years of teaching, living, and traveling throughout the world.
